There's more to the Gold Coast than theme parks and beaches, with the holiday hotspot being home to some great restaurants. Next time you're lucky enough to get away to the fun-filled city, grab a bite to eat and share a memorable experience in one of the following hatted restaurants:
Located on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway, Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar is a gem among the busy streets. Stepping inside is like being transported to another world, and with three dining rooms to choose from you can easily set the mood for your dining experience. If it's a contemporary vibe you enjoy, you can't go past the "modern dining room" with it's incredible art by local artist Corinne Lewis lining the walls. Fancy taking a step back in time? Little Truffle's "classical room" takes you straight into the heart of a French chateau, complete with mirrored wall and an incredible 13 light chandelier. If there is a group of you, the private dining room is something special, showing off black velvet curtains and handmade vintage crystal.
As for the food, chef/owner Daniel Ridgeway has spent many years perfecting his art under the guidance of some of the world's best chefs. He describes his style as contemporary, choosing to give a modern spin to classic dishes, and he prides himself on using local produce wherever possible. Among his delights you will find cured king fish with ginger, confit shallot and lime, avocado mousse, green chilli and salmon pearls, or another favourite is his herb crusted pyrenees lamb rump with red onion chutney and rosemary tomatoes.
When Satoshi Matsumoto was assigned the task of designing the decor for Broadbeach's new Ten Japanese Restaurant, he wanted to create the feeling of Japanese heaven. He's certainly done that, with exquisite decor that lets you forget about everyday life and enjoy the moment. The restaurant is at once industrial and innovative, with heavy stainless steel front doors and an impressive granite and glass teppanyaki counter. There is even a sleek sushi room for you to enjoy.
There is a variety of set course menus as well as delicious a la carte choices, and with dishes such as the pork belly flavoured with white miso you'll be hurrying back on your next visit.
With breathtaking ocean views and stunning, contemporary decor, you're guaranteed a special experience at Seaduction Restaurant & Bar. You can enjoy the view from every table, while executive chef Steve Szabo whips up delights such as seared diver scallops with black pudding crumble, sweet corn custard and carrot essence. Your taste buds will tingle with every bite of his rainbow trout sandwich with celeriac remoulade, fennel cream and watermelon bubbles, and you'll marvel at his touches of molecular gastronomy.
Szabo has a distinctive imagination, and this is reflected in his unique and fascinating menu. Having worked in some of the best kitchens in the world, he's a master at his art and a welcome addition to the Gold Coast dining scene.
