Top 3 Restaurants to visit after the Australian Open

Heading to the Australian Open, but not sure what to do after? If you want to stay and play in Melbourne after the game's over, here are our top three restaurant recommendations- all of which you can enjoy with a Good Food Gift Card.

Taxi Kitchen

Located right in the heart of Federation Square (and a quick ten minute walk from Margaret Court Arena), Taxi Kitchen boats some of the finest views in Melbourne with an almost 360 degree view of the city. Fast in service and fresh in menu, Taxi Kitchen offers mostly European-based Australian dishes with a few exceptions. Sharing is recommended, however if you simply cannot choose you can let the chef decide for you with a 6 course tasting menu. Sample and sip from a wide selection of Victorian focused wine from over 150 wineries in 22 distinctly Victorian wine regions. Alternatively, unwind with a beer, select from a constantly-updated cocktail list or have the bar staff create something entirely new to suit your taste.

Meatmaiden

Hidden behind a neon sign at the heart of the CBD sits Meatmaiden. An underground smokehouse and steakhouse, Meatmaiden delivers premium cuts from the country's best meat producers. Boasting a custom-built, wood-burning smoker and dry-ageing meat cabinet, Meatmaiden does not mess around- meat is their passion. All dietaries are welcome however, with the inclusion of a diverse menu and vegetarian set menu. Not hungry? Take a seat at the bar and enjoy the load of good drinks available to you- with six taps of fresh and local craft beer, eclectic cocktail and a sharp wine list.

Massi

Tucked away underneath the Temple Court apartments, this tiny restaurant is easy to miss- but one you wouldn't want to. With approximately 50 seats available, Massi provides an intimate dining space filled by the usual city lunch crowd. With the attentive service, cosy atmosphere and simplistic Sicilian flavours, it's no wonder that Massi attracts the frequent visitor. If the pasta list doesn't entice, come purely for the "crudo antipasto corner" and watch the chefs slice mouth-watering salumi, terrines or prosciutto.
